Be Your New Best (or Beast!) Self: Eddie Hall's 2026 Goal-Setting Guide

Does January feel like pressure to reset your goals, but you’re no longer sure what you’re aiming for? Maybe last year’s goal doesn’t make sense anymore; maybe your life, health, or priorities have changed. Or maybe you hit the target, and don’t know where to go from here. This doesn’t mean you’re failing; it might just mean it’s time to reassess and reframe your objectives, and get a fresh new perspective. It’s normal to outgrow your goals - the important thing is recognising when it’s time to evolve them.

Nobody embodies this type of mindset shift better than long-term Prep Kitchen ambassador, Eddie Hall.

Eddie Hall’s goals at 17 were wildly different to those he’s working towards today. Before he became World’s Strongest Man, Eddie Hall was making headlines as a national-level swimmer, winning multiple gold medals at the ASA National Age Group Championships. The discipline of this training and his early success laid the foundation for everything that followed.

“That set me up for life,” Eddie says. “It taught me that hard work pays off, whatever you’re aiming for”

Another Year, Another Challenge, Another You

From elite swimmer, to World’s Strongest Man, to pro boxer, and now MMA fighter, Eddie’s journey proves one thing: your goals might change, but your mindset shouldn’t. Growth is never static, and neither is greatness.

"Your goals should grow with you. Sticking to an old one just because it’s familiar can stop you from becoming who you’re meant to be," Eddie told us.

Forget the idea of one perfect body, or one lifelong goal: the best version of you can change. As your life evolves, your vision of success should too. The Eddie Hall body has gone through a full Eddie Hall transformation: from lean teenager to 430lb strongman, and now a more agile build for MMA. Every shift was intentional, supported by a targeted Eddie Hall fitness routine and targeted nutrition.

You don’t have to chase someone else’s goals. Just focus on becoming the best version of yourself, in this chapter, today.

"Every version of me has had a purpose. Don’t be afraid to outgrow who you were. That’s the point," said Eddie.

So, if you’re still chasing a 2019 goal with a 2025 mindset, it might be time to reframe. Let go of what no longer serves you, and focus on becoming your strongest self today. If you’re not sure how to reframe your goals, Eddie’s put together a checklist to make sure you’re on the right track for you, right now:

  • Are your goals right for your current physical health?

Your body changes with age, illness, injury, or even a shift in training focus. Make sure your goals match your current fitness level NOW, not the version of you from five years ago, or the you you think you’d like to be.

  • Do your goals genuinely excite you, or do they feel like a chore?

If you're dragging yourself through a plan because you think you should, you won’t stick with it. The best goals are the ones that feel personal, not performative. Don’t be influenced by your friends or your social feed - choose a goal that puts a fire in YOUR belly. Aim to be the best version of yourself, not a poor version of someone else.

  • Do your goals match your lifestyle and circumstances?

Discipline and focus are really important, but ambitious plans only work if they fit your real life. Your goals shouldn’t become a worry. Think about how much time you really have, and how much energy. Consider your family commitments, finances, personal preferences, and recovery needs, then build your goals around that. It’s far better to achieve something attainable and build on that than set your sights too high and fail.

  • Are your goals building on your past progress?

Don’t start from zero. Reflect on what’s worked before and use this as your foundation. Look at what didn’t work, and work out why, then either reframe and try again or let it go because it no longer serves you. Good goals evolve.

  • Do your goals have a clear “why”?

A goal without meaning won’t last. Make sure you understand why you want it and why it matters to you.

“When I stepped away from strongman, I needed a new challenge, not just to compete, but to prove to myself I still had more to give. Boxing wasn’t about winning titles. It was about pushing my limits in a completely different way,” shared Eddie.

This might translate for you as: “I want to run a 10K this spring to rebuild my confidence after having my second baby. It’s not about the time, it’s about doing something for me.”

Or “I want to start training again so I’ve got the energy to play football with my son after work. I don’t care about six-packs - I just want to feel good in my body and show up for my family.”

  • Are you allowing room to adapt?

Life doesn’t always go to plan and neither does training. Your goals aren’t fixed in stone. Give yourself permission to adjust the plan as needed, without seeing it as failure. Flexibility helps you stay consistent when life throws curveballs.

  • Are you giving your goals the support they need?

Even the best intentions need structure. Do you have a plan, a routine, or people to help you stay on track?

Support could be anything that helps to keep you on track: from a friend who checks in on your progress to using Prep Kitchen to take care of your nutrition. Don’t go it alone if you don’t have to.

  • Your food should match your focus

Whatever your goal, you need the right fuel. Whether you’re bulking, cutting, building endurance, or simply trying to feel better in your skin, your nutrition should support your present goals, not your past.

As Eddie puts it: "I don’t eat the same way now as I did when I was competing in Strongman comps. I don’t need to. Food is fuel, and you need the right kind for the engine you’re running."

That means your meal plan should evolve too. Whatever challenge he’s training for, Eddie Hall’s diet and food prep have to match it. That’s why Eddie backs Prep Kitchen, with our macro-balanced meals tailored to your goals.

Whether you're eating for recovery, performance, or weight loss, every forkful should move you forward. Prep Kitchen evolves with your goals, helping to make them more achievable, saving you time and stress, just healthy food with no planning, no prep, and no washing up!
