Making a Difference,
One Meal
at a Time
At Prep Kitchen, giving back is woven into everything we do.
We believe that creating positive change takes continuous effort, and we’re dedicated to making an impact year after year. From local communities to global initiatives, we’re always exploring new ways to contribute and collaborate with charities that align with our values.
How we contribute
Donations to War Child:
In partnership with Solovey Vodka, we donate 100% of profits from the sale of specially created meals directly to War Child, funding crucial aid for children in war-affected regions.
Homelessness Projects:
We donate approximately 800 meals monthly to local homelessness projects and, via our partnership with strongman Eddie Hall, give thousands of Christmas meals to the homeless each year.

Sustainability
At Prep Kitchen, we care about the world we live in.
We love our glorious planet and are fully committed to minimising our environmental impact as much as possible.
Our Kitchen
All of the electricity used in our kitchen is from renewable sources, and we are continuously looking for ways to reduce our power consumption.
We hate waste and actively work to reduce wastage from our cooking process. Of any food waste generated, 83% is currently recycled.
We’ve invested in more energy-saving machinery, and a more efficient operating site.
Our Community
We source our ingredients from local suppliers where possible, aim to use seasonal fruits and vegetables in our menus all year, and only use free range eggs in our meals.
Our Packaging
Product and delivery packaging is an essential part of our operation, and we know that this is a major consideration for many of our customers. We’re constantly looking for ways in which we can reduce the amount of packaging we use, and to ensure that it’s fully recyclable.

Why don’t we use biodegradable packaging for our meal trays?
Biodegradable trays must be lined with a plastic
coating in
order
to keep food fresh, rendering them unsuitable for either composting or recycling. Consequently they
will end up in landfill where they release methane - much worse than CO2 - and leave behind the
plastic coating which takes hundreds of years to degrade.
Our meal trays are made from 50% recycled material, and are themselves fully recyclable*
in
most
kerbside waste collections. We believe this is a more sustainable solution.
We’re supporting the incentive to make single use plastic in the EU a ‘closed system’ after 2030. This means that by 2030 all plastic within the EU will need to be recycled and reused.
Our Delivery Partners
All of our national deliveries are currently via DPD, who make more than 26 million deliveries annually by all-electric vehicles.
If you have any further questions on this subject, please feel free to contact our customer care team on mealplans@prepkitchen.co.uk
*At this point, the film on the trays is not recyclable, but we are actively looking for recyclable alternatives.
